For our second event, we thought it would be a nice surprise to bring our Special Olympics athletes for a photography trail along the Singapore River as a little getaway from their busy training schedule for the first ever Special Olympics 2013 Asia Pacific Games. Oh! Did I mention? The beneficiaries and volunteers from the Tent & Beautiful People decided to join us for this morning walk too! WooHooo! The more the merrier!
So together, our photography trail kicked off from the Bird @ the Singapore River (outside UOB Plaza) with the herd of 72 of us taking a nice slow stroll with our participants busy snapping away at every little detail – from the swing at the Raffles Place grass patch to the majestic Fullerton Hotel.
This genuine interest from our beneficiaries intrigued us – the volunteers. In a way, we had almost taken the sights of the Singapore River for granted and had very often walked past without “stopping to smell the roses”. It was indeed refreshing to see the participants appreciating Singapore in its purest form.
It was a good day – not only for our beneficiaries who thoroughly enjoyed their day but also for us, the volunteers who were able to reconnect with Singapore through the eyes of our participants. Thank you.
Special thanks to our sponsors – ClubSNAP Photography Community,Olympus Imaging Singapore & Barclays for making this event possible! Our Special Olympics Singapore athletes will be setting off next week to Australia to represent Singapore for the first ever Special Olympics 2013 Asia Pacific Games that will be taking place on 1st December 2013. Let us wish you all the best in your games and remember to tell all your new friends in Australia all about our beautiful Singapore!
